Background:

More than 1,000 solar powered LED street lights have been shining on many highways in Nigeria since the first implementation in January, 2009. After evaluating many products from various suppliers, the Nigeria government selected our 40W solar powered LED street lights for the project.

The system is designed for easy installation. It does not require to lay external power cables or wires and can be set up for advanced charging and discharging according to local sunlight hours. A 24VDC power supply used for the system ensures the benefits of safety, reliability and energy saving. Since LED lighting has no mercury or other toxic elements, it is the preferred replacement toward green energy.

Results:

The project was implemented successfully and has tremendously improved the highway driving visibility. The Nigerian government is continuing the projects throughout the whole country.
